Terms of Use

Plain terms for a free site: use the tools for anything lawful, do not hammer them, and do not treat their output as professional advice.

1. Agreement

By using www.spell-mistake.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. The service

SpellMistake provides free online tools and written articles. The service is offered as it is, without charge and without any account. We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool at any time, and we are under no obligation to keep any particular feature available.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the tools for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. You may not:

  • use automated means to send high volumes of requests to the tools or to the site’s API endpoints;
  • use the URL-fetching tools to probe systems you do not own or have permission to test, or to attempt to reach private, internal or non-public addresses;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system;
  • use the site to infringe copyright, to harass anyone, or to distribute unlawful material;
  • republish the site’s articles wholesale without permission and without attribution.

The server-side tools are rate limited. Repeatedly exceeding those limits may result in your address being blocked.

4. Your content

You keep all rights in the text and addresses you put into the tools. We claim no ownership of it and, for the tools that run in your browser, we never receive it in the first place. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to process the text you paste.

5. No warranty

The tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular we do not warrant that results will be accurate, complete or fit for any purpose. A spell checker misses errors. A rule-based rewriter produces sentences that need editing. A page size measurement is an estimate based on a bounded sample. Check the output before you rely on it.

6. Not professional advice

Articles on this site are general information about writing and search engine optimisation. They are not legal, financial or professional advice, and search engine behaviour changes without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of data, business interruption or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Third-party services and links

Some tools rely on third-party services, and articles may link to other sites. We do not control those services or sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

9. Intellectual property

The SpellMistake name, logo, site design and article text are ours unless stated otherwise. You may quote short extracts of articles with a link back. Wholesale reproduction requires permission.

10. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revision.

11. Contact
